Teaching Assistant (Fixed Term)

Grade 2, Term-time only.

The Governors are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant on a fixed term contract ending 19th July 2019.  This post will include:-

  • Working 15 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 10.15am to 1.15pm) to support learning within Reception Class to provide an excellent start to pupils’ education and preparing for transition to Year 1.
  • Provide appropriate support to a specific pupil in relation to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Assist in matters of personal need and general health including first aid and welfare matters.
  • Accompany staff and children on visits, trips and out of school activities as required.
  • Encourage child to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Is fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.

 

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, caring and loves working with children.
  • Has achieved NVQ level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent or is willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Has recent, relevant experience
  • Has experience of working with SEN pupils.

Lunchtime Supervisor

The Governors are looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor working 1 hours 20 minutes, Monday to Friday.

 

  • Will support the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Will supervise the children in the lunch hall and playground on a rota basis, organising activities and equipment as required.
  • Will proactively organise first aid treatment, obtaining assistance from Qualified First Aid staff where applicable, issuing first-aid notes/stickers and contacting parents as required.
  • This role reports to the Senior Lunchtime Supervisor and will receive daily briefing and instructions to ensure the smooth operation of the lunchtime break within school.
